Second Step 

Second Step is a non-profit organisation that strives to help children who are living in poverty across New Zealand have the chance to get access to a good pair of school shoes. We work with a number of donating schools to collect pre-loved shoes. We then re-pair, re-lace and donate these shoes to children and families who need them. 

Second Step began in 2017 by collecting from one school. Just over 40 pairs were collected in this first round and donated to a central Auckland school. Since then, Second Step has expanded nation wide and has served several schools across New Zealand. To date Second Step has donated to over 400 families. In the future Second Step aims to continue this donation cycle and serve as many children in New Zealand.
